Know That I Was Never Yours

Understandably, it was hard

Not quite the easiest to do

Leaving something you love behind

Not yet sure what would be new

Emotions ran unfinished

Maybe by choice for one or two

And in crept that vacant feeling

Familiarizing itself in you

But is it true that love is lost?

When love could not define

The electricity in your soul

The deepest crevices in your mind

There are some parts in each of us

To each his own for show

That we keep hidden in the dark

Not a soul or being would know

Now think back on this stunted past

The supposed unclocked doors

So that when you say you lost me

Know that I was never yours
