Darkness covered this earth,
Racism, ignorance, discrimination,
Seeds of pain and anguish,
The people can only take so much,
“We need a king!” they scream in pain,
soon enough
their prayers were answered
A king marched to aid his people,
A King rode in on his horse, Equal
He had his loyal knights, Acceptance and Rights
by his side,
His people marched along side him,
To the great Washington D.C.
Down the dark hallway he lead,
This march was long and brutal,
Attack dogs, hoses, brutality,
Challenges to test the King and his loyal subjects,
Though the King died,
His people had reached the light,
Of equality and civil rights,
The king had dispelled the darkness,
And with so, a new reign of hope and acceptance
has been brought about
