Kin

It's nice to have people who stick by your side.
Who care for you.
Who love you.
Who hug you.
Who teach you.
Told you stories and tuck you in at night.
Scared the monsters away from under your bed.
Helped you plan out your Halloween costumes.
Watched you jump from couch to couch, so you wouldn't die from the lava.
Bought you the best classic Nintendo games ever, and played 4 straight hours with you.
Always walked you to the bus stop in the morning, and waited for you when you came back.

When you came home crying, they were swearing, because no hurts their little girl.

Waiting in the waiting room with your grandparents, because your mother is momentarily having another child.                                                                    Making your little brother giggle, as you shoved a cheeto in your nostril, thinking you could sneeze cheese.

When your mother dreaded you going to middle school, because it was a step closer to high school.

You on the other hand don't bring up middle school which is totally fine, since your best friends agree with that arrangement.

Your father dreaded high school even more, knowing that most guys are horny jerks, and he would do anything to keep them away from his little girl.

The nights that you stayed up studying for five test, finishing up two projects, and correcting your essay until 2 in the morning. Throwing your Crayola markers onto your bed, wailing into your pillow , your parents come to the rescue just to calm you down.
"It will be worth it at the end.", they soothed into your ears , as they drew out the picture of you walking in your cap and gown.

You just had a fight with your best friend , the one that you've known since middle school, and it looks like you two are finished. Yet with mom and dad by your side , they promise that 'there are more people coming to your life journey'.

The dress, your hair, the make-up,and the limo. Three weeks away from Graduation, and it's already Prom. Dad warned you about the boys once more, Mom took pictures of your every movement, and they both waved from the front door to await for your return.

The bell rang for the last time, to end not just 7th period, but to end your high school career.
Waiting in anticipation for your name to be called , being next in line , you look over towards your family and give them a friendly smile saying 'this is it'.
Throwing your caps in the air, hugging your friends and teachers, and walking off the high school campus ; the last time with your family.

Stuffing the last box in the trunk of your car, mom sniffles once more, as dad rubs your back during the hug; whispering the childish jokes and advice you've grown to love. Hugging mom , her tears troll down your shirt, but you didn't care about your tshirt; you cared about your mother. Little brother , only now starting high school, just couldn't bare to see you go; knowing who was going to make pillow forts with him.

But your little volts wagon bug, rolls down the street, and off to the next journey - college.

School started in August, 3 months had passed, and Thanksgiving is in a week. Meaning you have to travel back home this weekend, since you have the whole week off, might as well spend it.
Running to the airport that night, with your luggage fully packed, you spent the night at the airport just so you could catch the earliest flight back home.
Taking a taxi , you surprised the family, as you sat on the couch watching re-runs of Friends while eating crackers. They wrapped you in death smuggling hugs, and dying to hear about the college experience.

Waking up early , back in your 'old room', you hear the Today show playing- knowing that the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade was coming on very soon. Running down to the kitchen you cook breakfast, while mom prepared for today's ever lasting feast.

It's hours later, now sitting at the table filled with your favorite 'Thanksgiving food', giving a prayer before you began to eat, but you had more to say.
"Thank you for being here today. Thank you for being here when I always needed you. Thank you for being here to pick me up when I was down. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for pushing me to do the things I thought I wasn't able to do. Thank you every year to drive me to five different stores just to find a single composition book. Thank you for showing the difference between fairy tales and reality. Thank you for giving me the good taste in music, movies, and food. And once again Thank you for being here living this moment with me."
