Kids

There used to be hope
In the shape of trees
And love
In clouds
And dreams
In stars
There used to be
Reds
And blues
And purples
And greens.
But then we grew up.
We dropped our crayons
To pick up a briefcase.
Now everything is
Grey
And grey
And grey
And grey.
If I can remember,
I look behind my shoulder
To see the sun,
To feel the warmth of my first kiss,
To dance in the rain one more time.
