Keep Me in Mind

Location

I look to my left, then to my right; no one to turn to.

I sit here in solitude.

Confined by a world of billions, I feel alone.

This loneliness won’t leave me alone.

I pray thoughtlessly omitting His presence,

forgetting Your omnipotence.

Over used to the point of uselessness,

abused for my civility and selflessness.

They talk, as if they make no sound,

as if I am deaf, as if I am dumb,

as if I don’t have feelings too.

That’s when you find a friend to turn to.

When conflicts arise, good friends are hard to find.

Former friends became foes of mine.

I mistook you for someone I could keep

in my circle, but I was mistaken by your deceit.

You took me for granted because I was always there,

Granted I wasn’t there, who’d even care?

No one.  Oppressed by this loneliness,

mentally defeated by this feeling of hopelessness.

Weeping in the midnight hour time after time, year after year.

Loud sounds of whispers of hearsay precipitate these tears.

No one to turn to, not even a friend,

but You are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

You are my ride or die,

You are my go to guy,

You’re the one Who has gotten me through.

I saw yesterday and can face today solely because of You.

Comforted by my subconscious whisper of a prayer,

knowing that I am heard, and that for me, You are always there.
