Keep Fighting

Got bucked off the bull once again, with the wind knocked out of me, I shook my head. Time after time I try and try, but with every fall, I give up and cry. Can't I do anything right? Why is this so hard? My heart and soul can't take anymore, this time I've had it, I'm walking out the door. As I turned to leave, the guilt became heavy. "You're a failure and a screw-up, that's all you'll ever be and everytime you look at your reflection in the mirror, you will only see your face and eyes masked by fear." I laid on my bed, holding myself tight, wondering if I'll ever be able to show my face. When I heard a voice, so gentle and warm, I looked up to see the mysterious form. It was my father standing over me, whose eyes were full of compassion. A gentle giant with a heart full of love and the voice, so sweet, as the coo of a dove. He sat on my bed and sat me on his lap, the same way he did when I was a little girl. "My child," he said, " Why do you cry? Don't you know it breaks my heart to see tears fall from your eyes?" I told him everything, I let it all out. Every fear, every dream, every hope and broken seam. When I finally got it all off my chest, he said; "Alright, now I get to handle the rest. My dear child, life is an unexpected journey, every day we are on this earth, we are always learning. From left to right and right from wrong, why days are short and nights are long. I taught you the difference between good and bad. I smiled when you were happy and held you when you were sad. I taught you to love and follow your heart and that I am always with you, even if we are apart. Obstacles will always try to block our path and it can be something simple, such as math. But it is how you look at it from your point of view, that will cause this obstacle to affect you. Now you have three choices on how to handle it, you need to break it down bit by bit, but these two choices I don't recommened. For if you try either one, you will be condemmed. Hiding from the world doesn't solve your problems and running away only makes you a coward. Now there's only one left and this one is right. Your only choice left is to get up and fight. In life, you'll have people who want to see you fall and there will be times when it's a high wall. You were given fists, why not use them to pound? Just keep attacking till it crumbles to the ground. Your goals and achievements are a golden light, they sparkle and shine like stars in the night. Swim the oceans, climb the mountains, swing through jungles, and leap through fountains. Keep going and keep fighting. Sratching, crawling, hitting, and biting. Do whatever it takes and don't you stop till you finally make it to the top."

The Mighty Pen

I have a friend who's real to me,
but to others he can't be seen.
To keep a secret from you isn't fair,
So I'll tell you... he's my teddy bear.

He's soft, fuzzy, and lots of fun,
In my heart, he's number one.
He's always with me every day,
and ready when I want to play.

We have many things we have in common,
and I don't let anyone harm him.
He has all the attention, all the fame,
it actually put my dog to shame.

I love my Teddy,
Whose name is Freddy.
I love him with all my heart.

But one day we will part,
and he will always remain in my heart.
The future is still to far to see,
so for now, it's just Freddy and me.
