Just a moment ...

Titus 2:11-13 New English Translation (NET Bible)

11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people.

12 It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled,

upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 as we wait for the happy fulfillment

of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Self-reliant

Fatality accepted in reality’s convenience

As long it is only feelings that are affected

Sorrowfully give in to levels of disobedience

As we go through this life acceptably infected

We don’t need a guilt-trip bathing in God’s Grace

We laid quite a while ago a foundation for excuses

It’s not really hard now to keep the church’s pace

For it seems to go backward with acceptable abuses

A comfort-zone wall in place cemented by the best

The world gave talent freely to build religiousness

With all the beds made up so neatly we all find rest

In touch with our wants and wishes in own righteousness

We sing about victory in Jesus often led by defeated lives

We make up words as we go to the rhythms of the world

We feel so dearly justified as here and there we forgive

But un-conditionality seems missing in our hopeless search

So we stretch the day into a way of our own making

We ignore the “Son-shine” that cast shadows in our heart

Now the blind leading the blind in such truth forsaking

As partiality and judgment are led by our own smarts
