Just Fly

There was a little butterfly,

and someone told it not to fly.

So now that little butterfly,

is too afraid to fly.

Someone came along,

and clipped its wings.

With words,

words full of nothing.

They took its paint,

Its pretty wings.

And that little butterfly,

That little butterfly.

Fell,

fell from the sky like rain

She fell,

from the skies like a star.

And that little butterfly,

Will they ever know?

That little butterfly

That little butterfly

Fell,

She fell from the sky like rain,

Fell like a bullet to the heart,

like a child in the dark.

I was that little butterfly.

And someone, a long time ago, told me not to fly

And I'm the little butterfly

who's still too afraid to fly.
