Joyful Summer Days

Many summer days don’t start off like this

You’re out from school, listening to music, and on the phone

“Double date? To the movies?” sounds like bliss

Deep down I didn’t want to partake in this

Three arrive, we’re waiting for one, anxiety is high

He arrives and is dressed to perfection … surprise …

Hiding your “excitement” for this movie

You file in sitting, while the mood is quite gloomy

You never thought it would be something more

You text everyday, you never get bored

Everything is perfect until friends get involved

In a matter of two months that problem is solved

You barely talk, your heart is crushed

Your happiness dwindles … suck it up

You thought it could be something,

But everyone just tells you it was nothing

Many summer days don't end like this

Your friendship is no more, how unfortunate

Honestly wishing to undo everything done

Oh … this summer was not a fun one
