John Wayne's America

Dear citizens,

My heart swells with pride hearing the “National Anthem.”

Living in a country without freedom is something I cannot fathom.

At what point does this independence conflict with moral boundaries?

The confusion between liberty and libertinely behavior results only in quandaries

As we live in a society that places disdain on wholesome values and esteem on shock factors.

We must change our definition of heros from celebrities like actors

To the  firefighters, policeman,  doctors, and teachers with integrity

That make our country shine as a beacon of democracy.

We worship fame and wealth over hardwork and decency

What we necessitate is a  return to modesty

A return to sincerity

A return to…

John Wayne’s America

My mom is a first generation immigrant to the United States that has enstilled in my family a sense of pride in our country as she knows first hand the consequences of the governments and lifestyles that exist elsewhere. However, I see a growing sense of immorality in the media that concerns me when it comes to the future of this beautiful nation.
