A Job That Can Change My Life

Create – such a big word.

Help – a command to go make a difference.

How do we connect the two?

How could gentle brush strokes on a canvas,

Or smooth ink on a page,

Assist a person in need?

Or how can an unorganized mind craft a piece of art?

You see, the two go hand in hand.

Art heals the hurt.

It helps the woman in distress,

The child that is unable to speak,

The elderly neighbor who cannot seem to remember much anymore.

The beautiful, intelligent, and lost mind,

The hurt or rejoicing soul,

And the innocent youngster,

Can create a piece of art.

The art can then be used to help them with the assistance of a trained and willing heart.

Art therapists work with those in need.

They lend a hand by letting the person’s art speak for them when they cannot.

Art comes in all forms.

Whether it be painting, drawing, sculpting, or writing,

It is all art.

And all these things can bring aid those who need it.

I want to create, and I want to help.

I want to be an art therapist.

I want to help the lost and the curious.

I want to open minds and hearts to depths they’ve never seen before.

I want to heal.

I want to spread God’s love.

I can do this with art therapy.
