A Job

Location

What is a job?
Is it a cumbersome load that fills nine to five
Hours of six days per week?
Is it a place you hate
But, tolerate
Because it keeps your bills paid?
Or is it more?
Like, for example,
An opportunity
To learn about responsibility.
A chance to, for once, EARN something.
A ticket to success-
A ride off the fast track to nowhere.
A job can give you the chance to make a difference,
To enable change,
And better yourself.
I want a career that betters myself
And helps to better others.
Therapy maybe?
A job can be the path of purpose in your life
A reason to get out of bed.
Someone somewhere said
"Let me but do my work from day to day"
A craving we all hunger
The satisfaction of a job well done.
And if you have performed your job well
Then, what you've earned is knowledge learned
And a battle that was won.

A job teaches you a valuable lesson:
In this life there's nothing free
What you earn is what you keep.
What you reap is what you sow
What you sow is what you reap.
