The Jewel in my Closet

Fears of  fears await me in my closet.

The light is broken but I search head first.

My body follows behind

In hopes to find a jewel in my closet.

What fuels someone to hide in a closet?

A canopy of hoarded shirts swing on hangers known as vines.

An understory of hissing price tags that scratch  me from behind.

They tease me when my thoughts get loud saying "sssilence sssilly girl" "ssstore usss in your clossset"

I struggle with the vines, but still make another deposit-

Leaving me torn with more clothes

to choose and prices tags that

smile when I do,

And that is when I loose.

The forest floor cannot be seen.

As dark as Guernica by Picasso,

Added with some green.

A mixture of incompatible chemicals resulting to the beginning of long strife.

A shaking foundation causing inner turmoil,

A spiritual warfare raging on a secret part of life.

Justifying the truth that tries to come out.

Thinking exclamation marks that they don't want to talk about.

Shouting at people with accusations that are true for myself.

Tumbling out of the closet as the months on the calendar changes

only to find that the jewel is left in the dense forest cages of

the closet.
