Jesus Christ and the Storms of Life
The waves form giant crushing fingers
The boat bows and dips with the swells
The rain and the winds seem to say "Give up"
My stomache lurches,
My face is green
I walk like a drunkard
But I dare not give in to the storms demands
Even with all this chaos,
There is a peace within my soul,
And it passes all understanding
How am I calm, within this storm?
What is this peace inside of me?
It's Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
He tells me it's going to be okay.
I trust Him
And there is peace.
I know this storm will pass,
And there will be others like it
I know this is not the end
There is a season for storms
Through it all, I know there is joy
To be found even in this place where I reside
There is hope that things will get better
At one point,
I felt engulfed in the storms
I wanted to give up
To give in
I couldn't see the hope
That was standing right before me,
Jesus offers the hope of salvation
To anyone who will accept his free gift
He gave his life, as the propitiation for our sins.
And now, if anyone accepts him,
They have the hope of eternal life.
It is the greatest gift.
"I look not at the things which are seen,
But at the things which are unseen
For the things which are not seen are eternal."
Don't you see?
The hope I found in Jesus Christ,
Gave me a desire to live,
And a hope worth waiting for.
So as the storms come,
I know that they will pass.
And I know I can live through them.
I can't live without Jesus,
However
He gives me strength,
And sees me through the storms.
