Jamaica is I

Dear Jamaica,

You have raised a bright young girl.

One who has a swing in her hips, bounce in her step and a sweet devilish smile.

Yes, you have created me.

The backbone of my foundation, the scabs on my knees from climbing tall trees

has given me the courage to always get back up and try again.

For wherever I go, and whoever I meet are first greeted by you, not by me.

There is no me without you, no you without me.

We are one in the same, in my veins runs tradition, old and new, and sweet sounds of reggae are my favorite tunes

You have shaped me into a strong woman, you have been my greatest teacher, for that I am grateful.

Thank you
