I've Known Sunshine

Location

I’ve known sunshine:

I’ve known the sun to dazzle any dreary day

And be seen as an indicator of God.

My soul radiates, hot like the sun.

I sat on the steps of Armstrong and felt rays beaming on my face.

I remembered being enticed by the sea and thought of the glowing waters.

I was charmed by the cicadas in the September trees that had began to shed leaves.

I saw birds drift away into the clear and open skies.

I watched students like me, making their way to class.

All of us seeking individuality and a foundation for our futures.

I’ve known sunshine.

Eager, luminous sunshine.

My soul radiates, hot like the sun.
