It's a Struggle Being Black
Location
What did we do?
Why is it always us?
Everytime we turn around
It's another balck person down on the ground.
Why do people hate us so bad?
At first we were beaten, tortured, and onder appreciated.
Now, we are brutally murdered and under appreciated.
It's a struggle being black!
Stop sterotyping us!
We are not all gang bangers, armed, and dangerous.
Some of us are really sweet and down to earth.
Can we be successful too?
Do we intimidate you?
Some of us can't fully live our lives the way we want
Because the cops are ending them so quickly.
Tray'von Martin and Mike Brown didn't deserve their death.
Cops are meant protect not to kill.
It's a struggle being black!
Minorities have less faith and trust in the police than most
Why you say?
Because they did us dirty back in the day
And they are still doing it.
Is this going to be a recreation of the 60s?
We know all of them aren't this way,
But when you're raising kids adn that's all they see
Police Officers killing yound black kids for no reason,
Why should they?
It's a struggle being black.
When Chamillionaire says,
"They tryna catch me ridin' dirty."
It seems like we don't need to "ridin' dirty" to face the consequences.
It's a struggle being black!
We're just trying to make it in life.
Most of us don't want to harm anyone
When you ask a young black kid what they want to be when they grow up,
They don't say an inmate or to be in jail.
Something happens in that childs life that changes their perspective on the world.
They most likely didn't have guidance or role models in their lives
The police officers should be that to build that trust with people and their situations.
To all black people, keep your heads up and be strong
One day the world will end and they will realize that they did us wrong
Because it's a struggle being black!
