It's Okay to Have a Counselor

Mon, 04/14/2014 - 23:06 -- kprote

You think, " My dad does not love me,

So it seems."

I try to make him proud,

I share with him all my dreams.

He is angry again.

Slurring words, "Get out of my face."

Your breath is heavy,

His words feel like mace.

All you do is wrong!

You can not make your father proud.

You are done, finished.

You inspect the barrel, one round.

Darling, do not worry I am here,

Tell me your hopes and dreams.

Sit beside me I will listen,

Look at your smile, it beams!

Someone out there loves you,

Just talk with me.

It's okay to have a counselor,

I am here to help you just be.
