It's Not Okay

Why is it okay to judge people

For their dreams?

For what they believe in?

Based on their skin color? Or who they're in love with?

Why is it okay to criticize those who

Don't think traditionally and see a situation presented to them a little differently?

When did it become okay to judge someone for

How much money they make?

The house they live in? Or the car they drive?

Why is it okay to tell someone

What they can and can't hope for?

What their dreams should be?

What they should pray for before they go to bed at night?

Why is it okay to set a limit on what someone has the potential to be?

That's the question I want answered for me.

I want to know why is it that if someone wants to become

A famous rapper or an artist or a dancer, people tell them no?

They tell them they won't ever make it. They make them feel

As if they're not good enough

Like they can't do it.

They make it seem as if

Rome was built in a day and it wasn't.

And I just want to know why that is okay.
