It's a Crime to Eat a House!

It was a mistake to make her house from sweets,

but she never told them they could eat!

That was just a stupid lie,

told to others for the children to get by,

it was a crime to eat a house!

Maybe she should take them to the courthouse,

but honestly it would do no good,

so she did what she could.

She served up sweet justice,

and honestly it was hard to miss,

the missing kitchen table to set the plates on.

She also missed her minty lawn.

She'd have to replace it all, no doubt,

as soon as these pesky children were out.

She got the oven ready,

but as she was pushed in she gave out a final plea,

"please just leave my house in one piece!"
