It's all up to you.

Location

It’s all up to you—

I remember a day when I was eleven,

My folks bought me and the bro some presents,

R.I.P. My momma now in heaven,

Presents was under the tree every season,

Saving dollars we never had a reason,

Asking if we would get presents wasn’t a question,

Eight years later loans is now the suggestion,

But when she passed at time it was like hell,

As if I’m convicted facing life in a jail cell,

Went from balling to quarter to quarter,

Now living life in the fourth quarter,

But will I pull up like Jordan in Game six,

Or be McNabb in the Conference and claim sick,

First US man from fam in college wow,

Got my dad very happy now,

Granted I got a bro in Lone Star,

And I’m still jealous of his car,

However I’m the first one to leave home,

With no friends started off alone,

Still had a few homies back home blowing up my phone,

Summer’s passing and I’m still lacking,

Ducking friends calls to avoid the constant slacking,

Thought I had it planned but I stayed confused man,

Still tryna figure out this school plan,

If Texas State reject me that’s something real damn,

Gotta wait patiently though like a grown man,

Five more days and God will show me the way man,

Been praying and believing something from the miracle man,

Because with my GPA I will need something real man,

If they accept me my family will cheer with water,

Or juice we’ve always been the sober group,

If I see a rejection I’m calling up the troops,

Naw, more like crying in my room,

Looking worse than a roach hitting by a broom,

Will still shine no matter what you assume,

My brother preaching to me saying it’s all up to you…
