Isn't Mother Nature Clever

Shock and delight

With Mother Nature’s

Gentle might

Lively chirping birds

Sounds more beautiful

Than mere human words

Buzzing insect wings

Flitting about

Cold gurgling streams

Mile after mile

Makes me stop

And enjoy a smile

Squirrels barking

Jumping tree to tree

Sky threateningly darkens

Sounds of thunder crashes near

As the forest creatures

Take cover and hide in fear

Intense pouring rains

Galloping down

Flowery country lanes

Death and destruction loom about

In this severe change in weather

Though still filled with beauty throughout

Isn’t Mother Nature clever?
