The Irregular Patterns of My Constant Heartbeat
I dream of you perhaps
Falling in love with the broken
Patterns of lines and words
That I deem "poetry"
For if you love what I can form
I could use it to show you
The irregular patterns
Of my constant heartbeat
As imperfect as my words would be
They would symbolize
The love that daily grows in me
Ever flowing
Ever changing
Never once as it was before
Flawed as I am,
But offered up as a gesture
Of love
When I write these words for you
Hide them in your wallet
Or place them by your pillow
They are a symbol
Of how I will
Surrender my heart to you
Daily
Completely
Imperfectly.
