The Irony of Stars and Wishes

There is an irony of Stars and Wishes
You make a Wish, oh you wish so hard
You want love and for your dreams to come true
You cram all of your wishes into that Star
But there are consequences…

Because even stars fall
They expire, they die
So heavy with the burdens of their wishes
They come crashing to the ground
They fall in fire, defeated against gravity

Your dreams lay broken and empty
All scattered below
And without that Star you are lost
Where is your love? Where is your hope?
What will you do? Where will you go?

But somewhere else
A one or two, a few or more
They saw the Star burning in the atmosphere
And made a wish as it fell
Your wishes made it fall and they wish on its falling

That is the irony of Stars and Wishes
