Internet Addiction

Wrapped in my desire's embrace
The double edged sword
That makes me a disgrace

The alternate reality within the world
The cloak that hides,
The defects unfurled

The poison that it gives
Slowly kills me inside
The monster that lives
Clouds my eyes

The blindfold it provides
Protects the inferior
Blankens the eyes
From the corpse in the mirror

May I be swallowed by the drug
The chains that make me happy
The senses that are plugged
Comforts me by trapping

The fear of living compels me
For the words are guns
And the eyes are machetes

Form a cloak around the stitches
Make the mask that hides
The alternate reality full of riches
Escapism is what keeps me alive

The haze that clouds the eyes
Forms a shield around the flame
It calms down my cries
So I can never feel pain

The energy that keeps me from dying
Tarnishes the soul
The energy that keeps me thriving
Keeps me whole

Something I regret
Keeps me from feeling like crap
Is the Internet
My own little trap
