In An Instant

And just like that
Vacancy filled in for your hand that I was holding.
Your whole presence
Vanished
Right before my eyes.

The happiness in my eyes was stabbed by reality
And bleed the cleer blood that burns my cheeks.
There's a sharp, twisting pain gliding down my back
Piercing my heart as well.

Are you coming back?

I cut myself open, so you would know what I was carrying.
You watched me break down, cry and scream so that you would craddle me.
You saw my shivering, demanding body heat to flow from my pores, and you wrapped me in your loving arms.

But all I feel now is the chill of loneliness.

You vanished.
Like the trust I had for you.
But unlike the eternal silence you plagued upon me,
The love I still have for you is everlasting also.
