A lot of people know me as

@haleythebirdie singing "All That Jazz"

Or lockedinabirdcage

Analyzing why paper beats rock

And for those followers, I am on stage on the web when I talk

Or 15byerha

Boring and ordinary

Nowhere near real or raw

Special or extraordinary

But not many know me as just Haley

The me under pixelated skin

And web-surfing daily

Typing passwords and pins

@haleythebirdie looks best in the amaro filter

She can draw okay

She seems a little off-kilter

And tweets the most on the night

American Horror Story is on

Or it's pitch dark between half-past ten

And the sunrise of dawn

Lockedinabirdcage is a Netflix junkie

She's sarcastic and analytical

A feminist and spunky

She's all about social justice, and movies, and jokes

She's an okay writer

But she feels like a hoax

Blogging of self-love and pride

Sitting with laptop

In the closet she hides

15byerha was just another name and another number

She's stressed, anxious, and depressed

Education is trying to numb her

"Apply to colleges, take standardized tests, do this and do that

Close your mouth

Leave your heart on the 'welcome' mat

She weighs her worth in math test scores that fell

And she doesn't know how to live a normal life

But at least she knew mitochondria is the powerhouse of a cell

Through the battle of arm versus knife

But none of these usernames can even be used

As a basis for who Haley is

And their information is brutally abused

Because Haley is more than just green eyes behind

The amaro filter and indie band lyrics

That have left everyone blind

To who I really am

Behind the print on Tumblr, Twitter, applications, and Instagram

Just Haley binges on ice cream five or six days a week

She questions her feelings

And her eyes start to leak

There's a stud in her nose

But the diamond fell out

I guess art copies life

When you're the bud in a drought

Just Haley is ambitious and a big dreamer

With poem trees growing out of her brain

She's a bit of a schemer

When she lays down to sleep

She only knows a gray area

In her feelings and attractions

She's in the grips of hysteria

Just Haley, the real Haley

Is but a girl

Who plays the bigger version of a Hawaiian ukulele

Beneath the articulate sentences

She's stammering in her mind

Her oldest and worst nemesis

Is anything but kind

When she looks in the mirror

But she gets up each morning

Determined to persevere

@haleythebirdie, lockedinabirdcage, and 15byerha

Are not going to fight her battles

And unclench her jaw

Just Haley is more than the amaro filter on Instagram

Just Haley is strong

Just Haley I am

A lot of people know me as

And for those followers, I am on stage on the web when I talk

Or 15byerha

Boring and ordinary

Nowhere near real or raw

Special or extraordinary

But I am just Haley

The only one she can depend on to gild her

And that's the me who matters

The me under the amaro filter
