Insomnia

Tick Tock the clock mocks straight from up ahead

As I lay, Time keeps pounding down upon my head.

My head lays heavy on the dark blue sheets of my bed

No matter what I do sleep is something that I dread.

The hands keep passing, first the small then the long

The sleep I need is what time devours and prolongs

The minutes form into hours, and the time goes along

However, my sleep never shows when time runs strong.

Daylight breaks through my blinds, and the darkness fades to light

My head still lay down on my bed, but now the room grows white.

Time is now thy enemy, while I count the minutes towards another fight.

A fight to sleep when darkness creeps, once again, into my room tonight.
