because i see another story with eyes sunken deep

i think it's been years

when i couldn't discern between minutes and hours

yeah, it must've been years

when i jolt awake from cold showers

a break from my nightly routines is what i need

fingers tapping across a black keyboard

answer the prompt, calculus, and a scene in hamlet to read

i need to stop

and rest my head on my pillow

to close my eyes and drift away is what i opt

but the years of the past refute

how can i stop now

should i let my works disintegrate into ashes and soot?
