Innocent Money

Although I may not live in a two- story house,

One with a game room and a leather couch,

I may not have a 20 acre yard

Where I could run and play with a pedigreed St. Bernard,

I may not dine with two forks on my left and two spoons on my right,

Consuming professionally prepared food with much delight,

I may not wear designer clothes,

Ones that match the $100 dollar foundation on my nose,

I do not, however, live in a shack,

One with no windows and a porta potty in the back,

I do not live in an area with crime,

One that requires me to keep careful track of time,

I do not consume left- overs and microwaved meals every night,

Disgusted to taste just one bite,

I do not wear patched, hand- me- down shirts and pants,

Ones that carry filthy stains from walking through the plants,

But I do live in a one- story house,

One with a decent lawn,

And I have tasty food in my mouth,

And I wear clothes that I am not ashamed to put on.

Although I may not be wealthy,

I do not suffer in poverty,

And for that reason,

Everything is awesome.
