Imperfections

You know those things
People say?

Not the good ones
The bad ones
Where people talk smack
Behind your back
Because of the things you may lack

Like the fact that
You're four foot three
Or that you need special glasses to see
Or that you obsessed with books
Or you may not have the best looks

You probably know
Of your imperfections
I do.
I know I act like I'm two.
I know I can be obnoxiously rude.
I know I have a weird obsession with food.
You don't have to tell me.
I see the imperfections.

But are they imperfections?

According to the laws of science
According to quantum physics
Imperfections is perfection.
The results you get
Are right
Because there is not always correction.
So what you think
May be dividing you into sections
Is bringing you close with affection.

I.
Am.
Me.

You.
Are.
You.

So what you think is wrong
Is now right.
Everything you didn't like
Is alright.

Because that's what makes you –
You.

Like the zebra’s stripes.
Or the dinosaur’s spikes.

Or like his wide grin
Or like her double chin.

So what?

If someone can't accept
who you are.
They deserved to be stuffed in a jar.
And sent far.

Because you're amazing.
And we should all be praising
These so called
"Imperfections".

Everyone here is great.
We need to learn how to appreciate
Each other.

Starting with imperfections.
