A world where your appearance is who you are,
being judged by your looks, your money, and your car.
Instead of getting to know you, and your personality,
lets face it this is reality.
You’re too skinny,
too fat.
You’re too tall,
too short.
You’re too dark,
too light,
and you think everyone is right.
So you hide behind your makeup, and expensive clothes,
perceiving this perfect image to people you don’t even know.
Why should you care about what people say?
You have to love yourself at the end of the day.
How can you judge a person when you’ve never walked in their shoes?
You don’t know what they have seen or been through.
Do not judge those who don’t look the part,
you will find out that they have the biggest hearts.
Embrace your imperfections,
then ask yourself these questions.
Do material things define who you are?
or are you just hiding behind your hurt, and scars?
Are you happy who you’ve become?
or have you lost sight of having fun?
You’ve become blind of what life is all about,
and forgetting what you can and cannot live without.
Open your eyes and appreciate the important things,
why should you be a puppet and let everyone control your strings?
Your happiness come within you,
but see you don’t have a clue,
because you allow people to tell you who you need to be,
and until you cut those strings you will never be free.
Don’t you see,
this is society,
painting a perfect picture of their reality,
instead of you being truly happy.
You’ve lost your ambition,
to fit in everyone’s perfect description.
You need to use your intuition,
because their facts are all fiction.
So hold your head up high,
never stop reaching for the sky.
Because one day you will realize,
where your true beauty lies.
