Imagine Away Life

Location

As I grow bored

with my daily routine,

I imagine a world

of life and people unseen.

This is a world of nonsense,

of no worry or regret.

It is where my everyday problems

are easier to forget.

To forget the pain and suffering

of those whom I meet

and forget the mistakes of my past

to prevent their repeat.

A world where the dark

dare not follow me,

a place that rids

the chains of reality.

Minutes turn to hours

which then turn to years

that I live alone in my head

to hide from my fears.

But alas when I awake,

I am quite appalled

for I lived my mind.

In reality, I have not lived at all.
