Imagination

Clouds roll by

White and fluffy

Cotton balls

Swimming in the ocean

Dissolving like salt

Or it could be

Dark and stormy

Flashing with fury

Scattering thoughts

Like pellets of rain

Fields stretch out

Speckled with graves

Of stories that faded

Or blooming with roses

And flowers of all kinds

Of characters and plots

Adventures and the lot

Snatches of song lyrics

Of beautiful dreams

That pass you by

Like fog on a Friday

Misty hills

In the distance

Silent walks

Interrupted

With magnificent

Breathtaking

Symphonies

Of crying

And screaming

And then sad lullabies

Of laughter and smiles

Switching between day

And the longer nights

Dotted with a breath

Miniscule and fleeting

Of fresh air

Then diving back

Into the dark and deep

Sea of bright fishes

Rainbows and light

Coruscating

And flinging

And reflecting like mirrors

Off of each other

Paintings line the shadows

Pictures and memories

Like old slideshows

Flicker on and off

As the being passes

Watching and grinning

Frowning and sighing

Wondering every so often

On where she began

To where her imagination

Ends

On this vast land.
