I'm Not Your Paycheck

Location

I'm a number, a statistic,

a misfit and you don't give a shit

because all you want is the money.

In a world dictated by economy,

full of mindless monkeys doing tricks,

teaching is no longer a profession, but a position.

I want a teacher who doesn't see a penny

but a student, one of many

who needs the attention to grow.

So why do you expect us to know

all these equations and useless facts?

Is it to grow up and become part of the act?

I don't see any teachers.

I see puppets in a play,

but I refuse to let them make me the same way.
