Illumination of the Night

My pen touches the paper.
The ink slowly flows.
The world spins idly by
As my story steadily grows.

I came into this world knowing
Not of my purpose or who I was:
Just a child quietly screaming
Wanting and needing love.

As the seasons changed,
Life taught me lessons of the heart.
One must be kind to others,
For kindness is the greatest form of art.

Don't forget what mother taught you.
Actions define who you are.
Those who treat others with respect
Are sure to go far.

To spread the awe of nature
And to share the love of life
Is to write forever and always
So as to illuminate the night.
