I'll Remember You

Thu, 03/20/2014 - 20:22 -- Marky19

I turn after crossing the great expanse

As memories return this lovely trance

Of moments passed in platonic romance

I miss that past and your beautiful glance.

That planet beyond is where I belong

Where I was loved and thought to be strong

After such promise - a busted flush song

So I lash out in shame of things gone wrong

Please forgive that impression of a ghoul -

A Man’s tongue is description of a fool.

Time doesn’t drool so we cannot retool

What made us shining bastions of cool.

I’ll remember you if sunny or blue

I'll gladly re-view the warmth that you drew.

But now, adieu to the angel I knew,

That friend of mine who remembers me too.

One word...bittersweet. We loved and we have lost. Oddly, it is better to have loved than to not have loved at all which I don't get one bit. Anyways, I like the poem. Keep writing on my friend.
