I'll Never Know

Tue, 04/24/2018 - 08:52 -- Vilyda

I will never know for sure where the falling stars fall,

Or where the black hole ends;

I can never be for sure if magic exists

Or if our lives are all pretend.

I do not know the vastness of space,

and on me, the concept of time is lost;

I do not know how consciousness works

or know what a human life costs.

I know not if there is such a thing as soulmates,

or how much a soul is worth;

Tell me what happens if a soul mate dies,

and you are left all alone on Earth?

Is my path before me full of choice?

Maybe it is set in stone.

They say “you will figure it out when you are older”

But what if I die before I’m grown?

Do beings of other planets look at the night sky,

And doubt that I am real?

Are there emotions that are so complex

That even a human could never feel?

I’ll never know why I am who I am

or what it is that makes me, me;

But I do know that staring up at the stars a night

Is how to let a mind be free.
