If You're Going Through Hell

Gran always told me do not discourage

Life is a pro at knocking you down,

But you have to dig deep to find the courage

To fight your way to the surface rather than drown.

Like a phoenix, from your ashes you can rise.

Does not the sun always chase away the moon?

So when you are feeling blue, look to the skies,

And take heart in knowing the light will come soon.

To make a masterpiece a potter's work must endure the heat,

But after the furnace  it can stand the test of time.

It is the only way to become strong, there is no way to cheat,

So I too must endure the fire to strengthen this fragile heart of mine.

Gran always told me to fight like hell,

So no matter what comes my way I will always do well.
