Words were spoken of hate,
Whispers of love.
And although we both loved
Hate got to us.
We thought we’d be hurt by another.
When one love was broken,
We feared ours would to.
It was like a reacquiring event of heartache.
Like a crack in the pavement
That spread to depths so deep,
We feared we’d be swallowed up in the sadness.
If only we listened to the whispers.
