if i could save you

Thu, 04/14/2016 - 22:26 -- tqn

just imagine

a world here out in the unknown

nothing but the clear sky

the clouds of cotton

a soft breeze

the touch of sunlight

grazing on our skin

if i could

i would whisk you away

past the wooden doors and the crumpled papers

away from prying eyes and dreadful screams

above the grip of dangerous claws

i'd keep the shadows far from us

chase the spirits that haunt us out

hold you close

and never let go

whispering nothing

but of gentle dreams and beautiful words

anything to light that brilliant smile

and call forth the fire within you

all i want

is to keep you safe

to keep you warm

to keep you by my side

with nothing but Mother

to disturb us

but alas if i were to carry you to the moon or stars

to a safe place where no one could touch you

you'd be consumed by the darkness too
