Identity
I’m gay, and while you might be from another generation,
That doesn’t give you the right to tell me that I’m
Disgusting
Going to hell
A disgrace to God
Shameless
Kinky
Sinful
Perverted
I may tell you “I’m genderfluid,”
But my trust does not give you the right to ask
“How many mental illnesses do you have?”
My sexuality is not to be fetishized,
My gender is not to be disparaged
My identity is not yours to poke and prod, to experiment with, to torment
This poem is about:
Me
My community
My country
Our world
