I'd Probably Be Christ

If I could change one thing, it'd be about myself

though this change would be the benefit of everyone else

I'd tell them daddy's coming home and mommy's doing fine and I'd jazz it up real nice;

make it into a little rhyme

I'd clean the blood up off thier face and take away their sins,

I'd remind them that with me, who really needs friends

I'd teach them something great

about mercy, about grace

and give them imagination, watch it light their face.

Yes, if I could change something, I'd probably be Christ

Though I wouldn't measure up, my change would suffice

Because the trouble lies not in purity but in giving,

in sacrifice
