to reach higher
I write to release
the tension
and reach peace
I write up to the skies
and the depths below
I write to cheer myself up
when I'm feeling low
I write for recognition,
but not for fame
I write to encourage others
to do the same
I write to convince myself
I am not alone
to prove that not all
words
hurt like stones
I write for the pain,
I write to finally mend
the wounds on my heart that show me
I won't break,
but I must bend
I write to find truth
and reveal the lies inside
the people who cover up
their hearts and hide
inside smiles and behind faces
that aren't true to them
but mostly I write
to inspire them.
