I Woke Up to a New Day
Light came through my window
as the sun began to rise.
The warm, golden rays fell upon my eyes.
A bird chirped, as the day began anew.
There were some many possibilities;
so many things I could do!
I could go to the beach.
I could clean the house.
I could water each
plant and feed each mouse.
But the first thing I did,
before filling my morning cup,
was open my eyes,
excitedly smile,
and wake up.
