I Will Never Forget You

seconds turn into minutes, minutes turn into hours

hours turn into days, days turn into weeks

weeks turn into months, months turn into years

and years turn into an eternity

throughout all this time I still can seem to remember

your favorite perfume that you used to wear,

the way the corner of your mouth would wrinkle up whenever you smiled,

and how you would always know what to do and say in my times of need

i will never forget you, although time seems to have it's own way of forgetting you

when you left me it was as if part of myself left with you

oh how i wish i knew what the other half of me is witnessing

because my other half is with you, where i want to be

as i walk around with half of me, i feel so incomplete

maybe all of me is supposed to be with you

but as i think this thought a voice in my head says "think about others, don't be selfish"

but i just want to see you again, i try to dream of you but you never come to visit me

i try to whisper to you but you never respond, do you still love me?

i will never forget you, although time seems to have it's own way of forgetting you

when i feel the wind pressing against my face, i imagine your hands softly caressing my cheeks

when the sun beams on my body, i imagine the warmth of your unconditional love

when the moon shines on the night sky, i imagine your face as you were always my light in darkness

when the flowers bloom, i imagine how you would always bring out all my potential

when the trees sway from side to side, i imagine how you would gracefully carry yourself

when the rain pours, i imagine how refreshing it felt to know that i was in your presence

when i hear the sound of the waves, i imagine how beautiful yet profound your voice would sound

when the birds chirp, i imagine how lively and full of life you were

i will never forget you, although time seems to have it's own way of forgetting you
