I wear my love for you

Long ago my heart decided to love you.

It started with me wearing a smile.

A smile that was reserved just for you that reached over and beyond cheek to cheek and hung from ear to ear.

That was the smile that said "because I love you".

Fast forward a few years and I would wear a ring.

A ring to show my ever growing love and to signify a million promises to make us work no matter how tough it got.

This ring would be a daily reminder of til death do us part and then some.

This ring became my new "because I love you".

A few months later I wore a suit.

This suit grew and stretched and rippled and I would wear it three more times during our lives.

It left me weak while showing my most inner strength as 9 months later it produced the greatest example of my love for you.

And soon after I wore endless eye bags and messy buns while nurturing the new being that signified my deepest love for you.

Times we're tough then, but my heart continued to shout, "this is my ultimate 'because I love you'".

Years have come to pass and my love attire has changed.

Tonight I wear your weathered hand in mine.

I wear it as I know it will be the last garment of love that you will see me in.

I wear it with pride as your grip falls from mine and your eyes close eternally.

In my lifetime I have worn many things, but the collection of "because I love you's" will always be my favorite.

This life of ours was full of love.

And I cherish that I could be ceaselessly clothed in it.
