I Was Raised By Music

And I don't care if you tell me that it isn't possible

Because look at me when I say

"Music raised me"

No it can not physically hold me and comfort me

It can not embrace me in for a hug or wipe the tears from my face

But, mentally and emotionally

Believe me when I say, "It was there"

Through the good and the bad

The fears and the overwhelming amount of tears

You may think of me as a bad person when I say this but

"Music has taught me more than anything my parents could even bother to say"

Lyrics are my safety blanket

And the music is my lullaby

I can gladly say with the help of music

I'm still breathing and alive

I'm grateful someone feels that kind of connection with music too.
