I Was Once A Goddess, And He Was In A Wheelchair

I was once a goddess searching for my god,
And he appeared to me in a wheelchair.
But that's okay.

My expectations were so high that
Only a god could reach down and
Grasp them in his clutch,
Lifting me to his level.

I wanted Zeus to reign over my body
Like a king over his queen,
To make me feel so high that I could
Touch the sky, just like he could.

I needed Hermes to steal me away in the night,
Take me place I had never been,
And protect me from what crawls in the streets.

My heart yearned for Dionysus,
He who could pleasure me
At all times of the day

Drunk on life, high in love.

If Hephaestus could fill me,
Set my insides on fire,
I would be perfectly content with being
Molded into his amazing works of art

I needed Apollo to be the sun in my eyes,
To light my world with his music, write me into his poetry,
And to heal me, taking away all of my pain and trouble,
For that was all he ever wanted.

I wanted Ares, strong and powerful,
Arrogant and courageous,
One who lusted after the battles that only this
Mortal world could offer to him.

Finally, my biggest desire was for Poseidon to
Wrap his arms around me,
Throw us both into the ocean,
And drown us in love.

I wanted him to flood my body with feelings
I had never felt before.
When our lips touch, he'll take us so deep that
We cannot resurface.

I was once a goddess searching for my god,
And he appeared to me in a wheelchair.
But that's okay.
