I Want to Sing
Location
I want to sing
For millions to hear
So they'll all sing back
And unity will become clear
I want to sing
Not for me
For the souls in need
To feed the hungry
With the money
See my voice is not my own
But the Lord's above
The One who made me
You see,
If I will sing,
And people will hear,
The profit will pass me,
I'll send it near
To the bodies all too thin
Nutrition-missin'
The single mother tryin'
I want to speak
Through melodies and chords
To declare life
Over the broken, the unborn.
The outcasts,
Those whose lips are sealed,
Whose ribs are shown
Whose minds are blown
They can't think properly
When all they want
Is some honey
I want to sing.
As typical as it may seem,
For me to have this dream,
I can't put it aside;
I can't let it die.
From the earth
To the skies
Music exists to lift God on High
So I want to try
To shake the nations
Bring restoration
Bring hope,
Love,
Healing,
Nourishment,
By singing and provoking
The God of atoning
The One whose presence
Brings joy and anointance
If His people will sing
Along with me
God will listen
He will bend down
His glory will fall
The lame, too, will stand tall
If God will do as He promised
And make us a people
Then I will open my mouth
I'll sing from the church steeple
If God will bring life
And the bread multiply,
The lives change tonight,
Then I will strive
To sing with authority and power
Until that joyful hour
Where the trumpets sound
And the righteous are no longer bound
To the sin in this earth
The pain, and suffering
For this reason, I want to sing
So while we have time
My mouth will open wide
The notes will fly
The words I'll pry
The mouths will not shut dry
The hearts will praise
And souls will shout out
Spirits will pray, "I need you God, now!"
For all these things
I want to sing
All the nations
All the blessings
For the glory of the Lord
And the restoration of His people
For hunger to be no more
I'm going to sing
